Latvian government has planned to spend 1.87 million euros ( 2.46 million US dollars) on the organisation of various events related to the Latvia's presidency of the European Union (EU), local media reported on Monday.
Latvia joined the eurozone on Wednesday as its 18th member, when the New Year fireworks cracked in the sky at midnight in the Latvian capital of Riga.
