The OPCW-UN joint mission has made "significantly good progress" in eliminating Syria's chemical stockpiles.
Citing complexity, security and weather, the head of the joint UN-Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) mission charged with ridding the munitions from Syria said Wednesday though the operation has been delayed, it is expected to meet its June deadline.
UN Secretary-general Ban Ki- moon on Wednesday appointed Sigrid Kaag as special coordinator of the joint mission of the UN and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) tasked with eliminating Syria's chemical weapons.
