The Philippine government has released additional 50 million pesos (1.11 million U.S. dollars) to augment the fund for the continuing repatriation of Filipinos affected by the deteriorating security situation in Libya, Syria, Iraq and Gaza, a senior government official said Tuesday.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced that nationals of Belize, Croatia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will enjoy visa-free privileges to enter the Philippines for a period of 30 days effective Tuesday.
The Philippine government on Thursday raised the alert level for Thailand and asked Filipinos there to prepare for evacuation following the 60-day state of emergency enforced by Bangkok to quell anti-government protests.
