The White House announced Monday that 14 more countries have joined the United States' call for a strong international response to the alleged use of chemical weapons by Syria last month.
U.S. President Barack Obama said on Wednesday that he has not made a decision about how to respond to the use of chemical weapons in Syria's internal conflict.
The U.S. government said Thursday that it is unable to conclusively determine that chemical weapons were used in Syria, as it is scrambling to gather all possible information on what happened in the war-torn country that reportedly killed hundreds of people.
A White House spokesman said on Tuesday that more evidence is still needed regarding the use of chemical weapons in Syria.
Despite mounting talks of possible military intervention in Syria following recent U.S. statements about Syria's use of chemical weapons, most Syrians downplayed their significance and considered them as no more than new pressure cards on the Syrian administration.
