Up to 165 Taliban militants have given up fighting in the northern Faryab and Jauzjan provinces over the past couple of days as military crackdowns against armed oppositions in the said provinces is underway over the past couple of months.
Amid Taliban desperate attempt to overrun Maimana city, the capital of northern Faryab province 425 km northwest of the national capital of Kabul city, 130 Taliban rebels renounced violence and gave up fighting in the province on Sunday, Faryab provincial governor said.
