Ciaran Martin, the former chief executive of the National Cyber Security Centre, says the purchase of Newport Wafer Fab by Chinese-owned Nexperia poses a greater threat to British interests than Huawei's involvement in the 5G network.
Boris Johnson told MPs that he had asked his national security adviser to look into the acquisition of south Wales-based Newport Wafer Fab by Dutch-based Nexperia - a company in which China's Wingtech has a controlling stake.
