Shops and banks in a border town of Myanmar's northern Shan state had been closed since Tuesday noon due to widespread explosions and assaults on police stations, the Standard Time reported Wednesday.
Two vehicles carrying aid workers to care for displaced people have been attacked by a combined forces of three ethnic armed groups as the vehicles were heading for the 105th Mile Muse Border Trade Zone in Myanmar's northern Shan state, said the Information Committee of the State Counselor's Office Tuesday.
Myanmar's commerce authorities are planning to expand the existing check point at Muse Border Trade Zone with China in light of increased trade between the two countries, a semi-official media reported Monday.
