A video surfaced on Thursday appearing to show a missing Japanese journalist, reportedly held by an al Qaeda affiliate in Syria, reading a message to his family and country.
The Japanese government on Thursday opted to neither confirm or deny whether a Japanese journalist who has allegedly been kidnapped in Syria is being held by an armed group.
