The U.N. nuclear agency and Iran will continue talks for a second day on Tuesday over Tehran's disputed atomic program, the agency said on Monday.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said the agency's chief Yukiya Amano might make a public statement after Tuesday's talks.

The talk between both sides over an inspection framework document began on Monday afternoon after the meeting between Iranian deputy foreign minister Abbas Araqchi and Amano.

IAEA has held 12 rounds of meetings with Iran since 2011, but no progress has been made over the inspection framework. The document aims at facilitating inspection of Iran's nuclear program.

Iran has long maintained that its nuclear program is designed only for peaceful purposes.
