At least 16 killed in twin bomb blasts in Baghdad

At least 16 people were killed and 40 others wounded Monday in twin bomb explosions in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, local media reported, citing security officials.

The first explosion took place in the morning when a suicide bomber detonated his vest at a crowded site near al-Tayaran Square, where many construction workers were gathered, a local source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity

The second blast was from a roadside bomb, reports said.
