Alibaba's Jack Ma scheduled to share entrepreneurial skills with youth

Jack Ma, China's e-commerce giant, founder and executive chairman of Alibaba Group, is scheduled to attend the inaugural of YouthConnekt Africa Summit in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, next month, Rwanda's Ministry of Youth and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) said on Sunday.

The YouthConnekt Africa Summit, which is considered to be the biggest tech event in Africa, held from July 19-21, 2017, focuses on youth entrepreneurship and exploration of opportunities on the Continent.

"Jack Ma is scheduled to come to Rwanda and share entrepreneurial skills with our young people. We are in contacts with Alibaba Group, and we expect him next month in Kigali for YouthConnekt Africa Summit, "Jean Philbert Nsengimana, Rwandese Minister of Youth and ICT, said.

According to organizers, the summit is expected to attract more than 1,500 participants including top executives from multinational companies that operate in Africa, leaders of civil society organizations, Africa's development partners, members of the academia and most importantly successful entrepreneurs, artists and youth opinion leaders from across the continent.

Besides sharing thoughts with youth, Ma is also scheduled to meet with presidents from 10 African countries, “We want to hear more about Africa through this trip,” Ma said during The UNCTAD E-Commerce Week 2017, Geneva in April, “We want to help all the countries, hopefully starting with e-commerce."

Ma also claimed that Alibaba will help solving difficulties Africa is facing, such as lacking of infrastructure and funds.
