Craftsmanship Connects the Silk Road | International Exchange Event for Rural Craftspeople Held in Beijing

Beijing, September 28 — The 2026 Chinese Farmers’ Harvest Festival International Exchange and Promotion Event for Rural Craftspeople officially kicked off at the China National Arts and Crafts Museum (China Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum) and will run until October 6.
Under the theme Crafting Rural Beauty: Blossoming Along the Silk Road, the event is hosted by the Poverty Alleviation Support Department of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and co-organized by the International Exchange Service Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Asia Pacific Daily serves as a supporting organization, and Jin Wensheng, Chairman of Asia Pacific Daily, attended the event.

Featuring six themed workshops, the exhibition showcases traditional Chinese craftsmanship including carving and painting, ceramic firing, embroidery and printing and dyeing. It builds an international platform for cultural exchanges, boosts the development of rural characteristic industries, increases farmers’ employment and income, and empowers comprehensive rural revitalization.
Jin Wensheng noted that the cultivation of rural craftspeople represents a vivid and down-to-earth practice of rural revitalization. As developing countries worldwide are seeking sustainable poverty reduction pathways, the rural craftspeople development model initiated by China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs offers a replicable and valuable Chinese solution for global poverty alleviation.
He added that the event fully embodies the people-to-people connectivity spirit of the Belt and Road Initiative and serves as a wonderful example of cross-cultural exchange and mutual learning.

Leveraging its global media advantages, Asia Pacific Daily presents China’s practices in rural revitalization and poverty elimination to the world, promotes the international development of traditional Chinese handicrafts, deepens cultural and economic exchanges between China and foreign countries, and contributes to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
