By APD writer Melo M. Acuna
**MANILA, Oct. 10(APD) – **Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, now 73 years old, said doctors who attended to him found no cancer in his body.
Speaking to Malacañang-based reporters last night, he said it was his Barrett which he said was “badly eroded” which he attributed to alcohol intake as he takes three shots of brandy before going to bed.
He said it was gastroesophageal reflux disease known as GERD.
The president also explained he was subjected to endoscopy and colonoscopy last Wednesday, October 3 after his trip to Samar and Tacloban in Eastern Visayas. He further said he stayed at Cardinal Santos Memorial Medical Center in San Juan for an hour.
President Duterte added he also had the same procedures in Davao City and had the plates indicating the results sent to Manila.
“It’s negative for, they had a suspicion but they had, I said this specimen taken out from my esophagus and somewhere here,” he said.
The country’s chief executive said he will drink again because one would die even though he doesn’t drink.
