China has opened an anti-dumping probe into imports of polyphenylene ether, originated from the United States, said the Ministry of Commerce on Monday.

Polyphenylene ether (PPE), sometimes called PPO, is a polymer famous for its heat resistance and dimensional stability and used in the auto and electronics industries.

The investigation of the case should be closed before August 3, 2021, or could be extended to February 3, 2022, under the special situation, said a statement on its website.
