“Who is always anxious striving, whom we can release!”

The world famous legend, 12111 lines of poem *,Faust * -Johann Wolfgang von Goethe contributed all of his life to create, this time, Ballet Dortmund from Germany will use the language of classical ballet to express it`s depth between the ambition of knowledge and the desire for redemption.

July 4 and 5,* Faust II – Erlösung!* will be performed by Ballet Dortmund in Tianqiao Theatre, Beijing.

The leading dancers is a couple of world famous ballet stars, Lucia Lacarra and Marlon Dino. Luacia Lacarra is a recipient of the Prix Benois de la Danse, one of the most prestigious ballet competitions. She was also named the Dancer of the Decade in 2011, at the World Ballet Stars Gala in Saint Petersburg.

The director Xin Peng Wang is known for his important choreographic interpretations of literature classics. With this new creation, Wang invites the audience to explore the magical world of this classic parable about humanity. In symbiosis with the spectacular sculptures of artist Li Hui, the choreographer creates extensive moment of ideal classical beauty and touching allegories of today’s world.

Ballet Dortmund currently consists of 21 dancers coming from 18 nations. Additionally, the NRW Junior ballet, which was founded in 2014 and comprises 12 dancers, is closely associated with Ballet Dortmund. The Junior Ballet provides the opportunity to young dancers to work for a period of two years in a professional environment and to gain work and stage experience by participating in Ballet Dortmund’s productions and also to develop and realize own dance projects.

Under the direction of Xin Peng Wang, Ballet Dortmund has become an innovative power in the dance scene of Germany. Wang, who bases his artistic work on neoclassical dance language, counts on the discovery of new literary topics and composers for full-length story ballets.

Fraust Ⅱ was just premiere in October, 2016. After touring in variety of cities, this ballet performance gained high praise from the audience and medias.

Making use of exceptional elaborated costumes, modern visual technique and images ranging from the dark ages to modernity, Xin Peng Wang leading the Ballet Dortmund deals with the hubris of a human being , and tries to reach and understand the incomprehensible. Let`s looking forward to it.
