Four Islamist militants were arrested on Saturday night after armed clash with security forces, Tunisia' s national news agency TAP reported.
According to a statement by the Tunisian Interior Ministry Sunday, the militants were hiding in a house located in the area of Ariana, northeast of the capital Tunis, which was raided by the security forces.
The operation led to the arrest of four militants including alias Somali who is accused of involvement in the assassination of lawmaker Mohamed Brahmi last July.
Two police officers and some dangerous terrorist elements were injured in the crackdown, said Mohamed Ali Aroui, the spokesman of the Interior Ministry.
Heavy weapons, some documents and mobile phones were seized in the house of the militants.
