TU ranks among the best 1000 universities

KATHMANDU, Oct 8 (APD) – Nepal's oldest university, Tribhuwan University (TU), has ranked among the top 1000 universities of the world for 2019.

According to survey conducted by the London-based Times Higher Education (THE), a weekly magazine reporting specifically on issues related to higher education, TU scored 9.2 in teaching, 6.6 in research, 35.7 in citations, 34.0 in industry income and 45.2 in international outlook in which overall score is 19.0-25.9.

TU has altogether 359,377 students among which 44% are female and 56% are male, the report said.

TU, which has been providing education in 76 districts out of 77 districts in Nepal, has operated altogether 292 educational programs including graduate and post graduate degrees while it has 7,920 teachers and 8,094 are technical and administrative staff.
