IS issues calls for more attacks

The Islamic State (IS) militant group on Monday called on the Muslims to commit more attacks in Europe.

The calls for more strikes, which came weeks after a recent spree of terrorist attacks in France, were issued through an audio recording posted on some jihadist websites and carried by Arab media outlets.

However, the authenticity of the video has not been verified.

Abu Muhammad al-Adnani, IS spokesman, urged the Muslims in Europe and the "infidel West" and elsewhere to "target the crusaders in the heart of their homes."

"You have seen nothing yet from us," the man said in the recording, praising the terrorist attacks that have hit France and Australia recently.

On Jan. 7, brothers Cherif and Said Kouachi stormed into the Paris-based Charlie Hebdo satirical magazine, and shot dead 12 people, including 10 journalists and two policemen.

The IS group now holds a large part of land across Sunni- dominated areas in Syria and Iraq. It used to be a part of al-Qaida after its leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi decided to split from the terrorist organization and to lead the jihad in Syria as well as Iraq.

The group has since won allegiance from militant factions in Libya and in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula.
