Protestersgathered in Rome’s Piazza del Popolo on Tuesday to demonstrate against the Green Pass plan. Some protesters removed police-installed barriers and carried signs expressing anti-vaccination views.

Also called a health pass, the Green Pass is a digital or paper certificate that documents that someone has received the first dose of vaccine, tested negative, or recently had COVID-19.

The health pass will become mandatory for indoor dining, cultural and sporting events starting next week in Rome, Italy.
