Protesters take to the streets in Myanmar's Yangon

A large scale protest is being staged in Myanmar's Yangon on Saturday following the

detention

of senior officials including Myanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi and President U Win Myint by the military earlier this week.

A reporter from China Central Television (CCTV) in Myanmar said police cars and ambulances can be seen in the streets. According to an earlier report by AFP, around 1,000 people joined the march, the biggest show of dissent so far against the military.
