Kuwaiti emir admitted to hospital for medical checkup: report

Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah was admitted to hospital Saturday for a medical checkup and the country's crown prince will temporarily carry out some of his duties, the state news agency KUNA reported.

Citing a statement from the country's royal court minister, KUNA reported that emir was in "good health."

According to KUNA, Kuwait's Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah will "temporarily execute certain prerogatives of the emir."
