Biden declares emergency in California due to the Caldor fire

U.S. President Joe Biden has approved a declaration of emergency for the state of California and federal assistance to help the state combat the Caldor Fire which continues to spread towards South Lake Tahoe.

Driven by the strong winds, the fire has consumed over 191,000 acres since it started on August 14, according to Cal Fire.
