On Monday, Ecuador swore in Guillermo Lasso as the country’s new President in the capitol city of Quito. The conservative leader takes the reins of a country dealing with a number of crises including an economic struggle and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lasso was joined by his wife, first lady Maria de Lourdes Alcivarwhere they greeted supporters at the balcony of the Carondelet Palace.
