A Hong Kong court on Monday decided to adjourn the proceedings against Jimmy Lai Chee-ying, an instigator of Hong Kong riots, and some other people involved in illegal assemblies last year to July 15.

The altogether 15 suspects, also including Lee Cheuk-yan and Yeung Sum, were charged with participating in, organizing, or inciting others to participate in unauthorized assemblies, according to the West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts.

People convicted of the offense of unlawful assembly could face up to five years of imprisonment in Hong Kong.

Lai was also prosecuted for another offense of criminal intimidation and this has been the second time he was arrested this year.
