Brunei Media Delegation visits APD's Shanghai Office

The media delegation from Negara Brunei Darussalam, leading by Marwardi Bin Haji Mohammad--the Acting Director of the country's Information Department of Prime Minister's Office visited the Asia Pacific Daily's Shanghai office on Sept. 3.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the dialogue relationship between China and ASEAN. Since this year's ASEAN Summits and related Summits was opened on Sept. 6 and the leaders of China and ASEAN countries are meeting in Laos, the relationship between China and ASEAN is going to enter a new stage.

Under the big picture of enhancing China-ASEAN cooperation, the Asia Pacific Daily and the delegation had a deep discussion on how the media could promote the cooperation between China and ASEAN and how to promote the innovation progress in the field of new media.

Mohammad said that Brunei and China had achieved a sound development in no matter the economic or cultural sectors through the cooperation between ASEAN and China.

“Nowadays, our cooperation can be more close," Mohammad said, "for example, we can establish a plat form for news to promote information exchange."

“In the field of new media, China and Brunei can build more channels connecting with each other, such as the mobile platforms and websites, to exchange traditional cultures.“ Mohammad said.

”Culture exchange helps building a better condition for the growth of economic. ” Mohad Ridzuan bin Mohod. Salleh, the Producer of Radio Television Brunei said.

“Media has been assigned important mission in the implementation of the 'One Belt and One Road' initiative under the background of information exchange," Zhang Guangli, APD's Vice President and Deputy Editor-in-Chief said at the meeting.

"The media in Brunei and the Asia Pacific Daily are mutually beneficial to reach a cooperation intention," she added, "together, we will create a window of understanding between the two countries in the future.”
