Millions of people are self-quarantining due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, household cleaning and disinfection are now even more essential to better protect people from being infected.

Here are some tips provided by the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that you can follow:

Alcohol solution: with at least 70 percent alcohol.

Household cleaners: Clean the area with soap and water or another detergent. Then, use a household disinfectant.

Soft surfaces (carpeted floor, rugs, drapes, etc.)

• Clean the surface using soap and water.

• Launder items at warm water setting and dry items completely.

Laundry

• Wear disposable gloves.

• Wash hands with soap and water as soon as you remove the gloves.

• Clean and disinfect laundry basket.
