U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on Tuesday was projected by local media to score a crucial victory in Ohio Democratic primary.

Her triumph would deal a strong blow to rival Senator Bernie Sanders, who attempted to use a victory in the key swing state to build momentum as the contests now moved out of Clinton's strongholds in the South.

Sanders' campaign had hoped to upset Clinton in Ohio, a perennial swing state in presidential elections, as he did in the Michigan primary last week.

Clinton was also projected to win Florida and North Carolina primaries with a landslide, and early results showed that she also led Sanders in Missouri and Illinois.

Clinton entered contests on Tuesday with an almost insurmountable delegate lead over Sanders. According to the latest delegate count by New York Times, she now leads Sanders by 360 delegates. Enditem
