TheCOVID-19 pandemic severely hit theNavajoNationsince last year. Notonly has the virusimpacted its healthcare system, but also daily lifeonthe reservation.

Theimpactofthe pandemiccan still beseen everywhere even as theNavajoNationmoves slowly towards reopening.

Last month, restrictions were eased for most businesses to allow 50 percent maximum occupancy, but the mask mandate in public remains in effect, while all tribal parks are closed to visitors until further notice.

Andone consistent issue for the leaders here is the lack of reliable infrastructure.
