The Albanian government and the World Tourism Organization will organize an international conference later this year to discuss ways and exchange experiences on how to manage seasonality in tourism.

The conference, entitled "Managing seasonality in tourism," will be held on Oct 20 in the Albanian capital, the ATA news agency reported Thursday.

Seasonal fluctuations in the number of visitors, widely known as seasonality in tourism, are closely linked to weather or other factors, such as religious, public or school holidays.

The participants will discuss their expertise and strategies to help public authorities and business community address the effects of seasonality and promote sustainable growth of tourism and employment.

A roundtable at the ministerial level about the role of governments in addressing seasonality in tourism will also be held during the conference, with a focus on the best policies and approaches in central and southeastern Europe.
