The annual Nadam Fair of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region kicked off on Thursday in the Gegentala grassland of the region.

The fair features archery, wrestling, horse racing, dance and acrobatics, which represent traditional Mongolian customs within seven days.

Domestic and foreign visitors can enjoy Mongolian sports and culture performances during the fair, local tourism official said.

"Nadam" is the Mongolian word for "entertainment" or "games". It used to be a traditional sports meeting held by the Mongolian people to celebrate their harvest.

Inner Mongolia government has been hosting the fair annually since 1990 to boost tourism and communicate Mongolian culture.
