Philippine and Russian government agencies and private business outfits signed at least ten documents at 4:00 P.M. (Moscow time) Friday at the House of Unions in Moscow.
In a statement released by the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) late Saturday afternoon, it was learned a Memorandum of Understanding on the cooperation on information exchange and collaboration on business development that will promote trade and investment between the two countries and members of the Russia-ASEAN Business Council and Philippine companies. Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon Lopez signed for the Philippines while Ivan Polyakov signed for the Russian - ASEAN Business Council.
A Memorandum of Intent was also signed between Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez and Maxim Pazdnikov, co-chair of Russia’s Association of Industrial Parks. The Philippine delegation hopes companies to organize business missions, workshops and other bilateral investments promotion activities.
A Memorandum of Intent was signed by Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi and Evengy Pakermanov of Rusatom Overseas on the intention of both countries in the construction of nuclear power plants in the Philippines.
The PCOO statement said Century Pacific Food, Inc. signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Magnit Food Retail chain, LLC Dalpromryba and Dalimo to serve the Russian market of tuna and sardine products from the Philippines.
Century Pacific Agricultural Ventures signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Panasia Impex Co. Ltd. to supply coconut milk products to the Russian market. Two distributorship agreements were also signed between Filipino and Russian businessmen while another Memorandum of Agreement on the promotion, distribution, and selling of IPP-NLS technologies specifically Metatron Micro MRI Systems and variations in the Philippines.
President Rodrigo Duterte is expected to arrive in the Philippines tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon. He is expected to deliver his arrival statement on what transpired during his second official visit to the Russian Federation.
