** —— Cities Forum of UN Maritime-Continental Silk Road Cities Alliance**

With the aim of promoting the development of the Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and creating common benefits for the people of the cities along the Maritime-Continental Silk Road, the representatives of cities along the Maritime-Continental Silk Road and representatives from the international organizations that are closely following the drive for economic development on the Maritime-Continental Silk Road, have come together in Fuzhou in the spirit of “Peaceful partnership, inclusive development, mutual learning and mutual benefit” to enter into a discussion of future orientation for Maritime-Continental Silk Road Cities Alliance, to further promote exchange and collaboration between the cities along the Maritime-Continental Silk Road, to facilitate the investment, trade and sustainable development and build a bright future for the 21st century Maritime -Continental Silk Road together.

As such, we jointly advocate: All members of United Nations Maritime-Continental Silk Road Cities Alliance (hereafter referred to as the “Alliance”), based on the principles of “Forward-looking, mutual support and mutual prosperity”, will build forward-looking and friendly relations, carry out a full range of exchanges and cooperation and establish a normal cooperation mechanism.

We will further expand the Alliance by inviting more cities on the Maritime-Continental Silk Road to join and more multilateral partners and non-governmental organizations that committed to the cooperation along the Maritime-Continental Silk Road to participate and provide various forms of support.

We will develop friendly relations between the cities of the Alliance and help the international community to continue to stress the Millennium Development Goals and achieve mutual prosperity and development .

Ⅰ Make full use of the international exchange and cooperation platform created by the Alliance,develop more effective economic and trade cooperation. We will fully utilize our complementary resources and market advantages to facilitate identification and focus on various trade and investment opportunity areas, such as tourism and culture while focusing on sustainable organization and cooperation between cities of the Alliance; We will advance green industry and transfers of technologies; We will facilitate trade and investment and promote opportunities for investment from both sides and multilateral trade at the city level along the Maritime-Continental Silk Road and enrich the connection of partnership and strengthen economic and trade collaboration to achieve win-win cooperation.

Ⅱ Joining hands to conserve the Silk Road heritage, preserve the civilization and promote innovation. We will preserve the civilizations developed along the ancient Maritime-Continental Silk Road and promote the sharing of civilizations between cities along the Maritime-Continental Silk Road and by actively nurturing and exploring the cultural connection of the Silk Road, facilitate exchanges in culture, education, technology, tourism, informatization and green technology between these cities to jointly convey our heritage and promote innovation on the Maritime-Continental Silk Road.

Ⅲ Strengthening mutual understanding and friendship between citizens. We will actively promote the building of friendly relations between cities along the Maritime-Continental Silk Road and strengthen people-people exchanges and consistently enhance friendship between the people of the cities along the Maritime-Continental Silk Road and promote mutual understanding and respect. The Alliance should serve as a bridge to facilitate people’s friendship and the harmonious co-existence of the different civilizations of the Maritime-Continental Silk Road.
