Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen met with former China's Macao chief executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, on Monday to discuss ways to broaden ties and cooperation.

The meeting was made as Ho Hau Wah led a delegation of more than 100 Macao entrepreneurs to attend a business forum in Phnom Penh, according to Kao Kim Hourn, minister attached to the prime minister.

"The prime minister proposed Ho Hau Wah to help encourage more Macao investors and tourists to Cambodia," Kao Kim Hourn told reporters after the talks.

The Cambodian leader also expressed his desire to see more direct flights between Macao and Cambodia, as currently, only one airline company-Bassaka Air-has operated direct flights between the two destinations.

"Samdech Techo also requested Macao to consider purchasing Cambodian agricultural products, especially milled rice, and garment products," he said.

For his part, Ho Hau Wah agreed with the prime minister's proposals, saying that they are crucial to contribute further to enhancing China-Cambodia relations and cooperation in economics, trade, investment and tourism.
