Taliban issue statement on anniversary of Afghanistan's independence

Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesperson for the Taliban, on Thursday, issued a statement on Afghanistan's 102nd anniversary of the country's independence from the British occupation.

The statement, issued on Zabihullah Mujahid's Twitter account, was inscribed "the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan," a name that the group has used to refer to itself in official communications.
