Chinese president sends condolences over Algeria wildfires

Chinese President Xi Jinpingon Tuesday sent a message of condolence to his Algerian counterpart Abdelmadjid Tebbouneover the deadly wildfires that erupted in the country last week.

On behalf of the Chinese government and people, Xi expressed deep condolences to the victims and extended sincere sympathies to the bereaved families and the injured.

At least 69 people, including 28 military personnel, lost their lives and over 1,000 were injured in Algeria last week due to devastating wildfires, according to the country's state-run news agency APS.
