Chinese Aircrafts handed to Nepal Airlines Corporation

KATHMANDU, April 18 (APD) - China has handed over two 17-seat Y12e aircraft to Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) amid a function at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. The aircraft were brought on subsidized loan from the government of China.

Six aircraft, including these two, were brought to Nepal 45 days back. Among the six aircraft, Y12 and MA 60 were brought on grant while the rest four on a subsidized loan as per the agreement made six years ago.

Chinese ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong handed over the aircraft to Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Rabindra Adhikari amid a formal program here. On the occasion, Minister Adhikari instructed the NAC officials to bring all six airplanes into operation within hundred days.

Likewise, Ambassador Hong said since tourism was a major base of Nepal's economy, the operation of new planes would help to boost tourism sector.
