Australian share market continues to hover on Tuesday

The Australian market opened slightly higher on Tuesday after Greece made loan repayments to creditors and reopened banks.

At the official market open, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 gained 12. 2 points, or 0.21 percent, to 5,699.1, while the broader All Ordinaries index added 12.2 points, or 0.22 percent, to 5,681.2.

Materials slipped 0.79 percent. BHP sank 1.28 percent and Rio Tinto dropped 0.84 percent, while Fortescue gained 1.15 percent.

Financials firmed 0.41 percent. ANZ gained 0.37 percent, the Commonwealth Bank grew 0.17 percent gain, the National Australia Bank added 0.85 percent and Westpac lifted 0.72 percent.

Energy stocks added 0.26 percent. Woodside Petroleum was up 0. 35 percent while Santos slipped 0.66 percent and Oil Search surged 2.16 percent.

Consumer staples rose 0.23 percent. Wesfarmers grew 0.5 percent and Woolworths inched 0.14 percent.

Telstra edged 0.08 percent and Qantas was up 0.96 percent.
