A security guard successfully rescued a boy hijacked by a knife-wielding man on Monday in Xishui County, southwest China's Guizhou Province.

It happened that a man with a hat hijacked a 10-year-old boy on a road and a passerby talked to him for a while and left.

Zhu Jiang, the passerby, in fact, did not leave the scene. He hid himself in a corner to buy time to save the boy.

Zhu is a security guard of a local company. On their way back home from work, he and his colleague Wang Jiahui heard a boy screaming for help as a knife-wielding man was trying to hurt him. Zhu and Wang rushed to the site while Zhu's wife called the police.

Zhu and Wang talked with the hijacker asking him if he has some economic trouble, looking for an opportunity to bring him under control.

Zhu moved behind the man and strangled him down when Wang was talking with him to distract his attention.

The police arrived after Zhu and Wang succumbed the hijacker and took him to the police station for interrogation.

The hijacker, 19-years-old, said that he had spent all his money and intended to rob someone for money, according to local police.
