The launch ceremony of Pakistan's Chinese-language tourism website was held in Beijing

This year marks the 72nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China, as well as the first China-Pakistan Year of Tourism Exchange. On May 22, the Chinese-language travel website "Discover Pakistan Railway" (http://discoverbatie.org) aiming at provide a one-stop solution for Chinese tourists visiting Pakistan has been launched. On the same day, many Chinese representatives, diplomatic envoys of the six countries, representatives of tourism and cultural organizations and media attended the event.

In a video message, Pakistani Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar stressed the special friendship between Pakistan and China, saying that the Silk Road in history and the Karakoram Highway in modern times have linked Pakistan and China and promoted cultural exchanges and personnel exchanges between the two countries.

H.E. Moin Ul Haque, Pakistani Ambassador to China, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. He mentioned that the Pakistan-China all-weather strategic partnership is a reflection of history and the independent choice of the two peoples. He said the "Discover Pakistan" website "is an ode to our special relationship" and "apart from providing a comprehensive guide for Chinese tourists, it will also help strengthen people-to-people exchanges", adding that he believed Chinese tourists would feel at home in Pakistan.

After the launch ceremony, Ambassador H.E. Moin Ul Haque also held a roundtable meeting with the ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Egypt, Jordan, Malaysia and Turkey to discuss their cultural and tourism experience and explore ways and prospects to promote cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
