Pakistan on Thursday said that a civilian was killed and two others injured when Indian forces shelled different villages in Pakistan-administered Kashmir overnight.
The Foreign Ministry said that "ceasefire violations" by India continued along the line of control (LoC) in Tandar, Sabzkot, Khuiratta, Baron, Bagsar and Khanjar Sectors in the Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
"The firing resulted in Shahadat (martyrdom) of Rizwan and critical injuries to two, including one woman Wilayat Bibi and Abdul Aziz," the Foreign Ministry's spokesman Nafees Zakaria said on his official Twitter.
"We condemn Indian acts of deliberate targeting of civilians," the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, police in the Pakistan-administered Kashmir told local media that a mortar shell landed in a house in Sabzkot village at about 2 a.m., killing one and injuring two others while they were asleep.
Police in Kotli district said that Sabzkot village, where the Indian shelling caused casualties, is located in the closest proximity of Charhoi sector in Kotli district.
Pakistani officials said it is the second time in five days the Indian cross-LoC shelling caused casualties on the Pakistani side of Kashmir. On May 7, Indian firing injured at least four civilians along the LoC, according to the Pakistan army.
Pakistan and India declared ceasefire along the LoC in 2003. However, both sides occasionally trade fire. Both accuse each other of ceasefire violation.
