Xing Tianyuan, a nine-year-old boy from Lanzhou, Gansu Province, has drawn a ten-meter-long scroll of figures in the Classic of Mountains and Seas, an ancient Chinese myth, in a month.

The boy can even recount the allusions and origins behind the25 mythological figures in his scroll.

According to him, he is very interested in the children's addition of the Classic of Mountains and Seas his mother bought him.

He looked up rarely used Chinese characters in a dictionary and read those obscure stories again and again.

He explained that some figures in thescroll come from the illustrations of the mythology book, while others have been adapted based on his vision of the Classic of Mountains and Seas.
