The COVID-19 situation is "slowly but surely" improving in France, according to Prime Minister Edouard Philippe, who also warns that the health crisis is far from over.
Philippe said on Sunday that there were signs that hospitals were seeing a decrease in the pressure brought by the pandemic, after the number of people in intensive care dropped for several days in a row.
France has been in a lockdown since Mach 17 in efforts to curb the spread of the virus.
The country has recorded over 19,000 COVID-19 deaths and close to 153,000 cases.
Philippe noted that an economic crisis was only just starting as a result of the outbreak, adding that it would be "brutal."
