A group of residents lifted an SUV to rescue an elderly man who was pinned under the wheels in an accident in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on Thursday.
The accident happened in Qingxi Town at around 7:00 Thursday morning. Traffic police who came to rescue the man found him with his torso stuck under a white SUV.
Noticing the man was still conscious, the policeman decided to raise the SUV the quickest way possible asking onlookers to help. With joint efforts, the heroic group soon raised the SUV and cleared a space for the victim.
Medical workers arrived afterward to take the man to hospital. Doctors said he had no life-threatening injuries thanks to the quick response.
A preliminary investigation report shows that the driver surnamed Wang was a rookie who just received his driving license. The report said Wang was trying to make a U-turn when he accidentally ran over the elderly man.
Further investigation is underway.
