China's short track coach Li: 'Happy to get what we deserve.'

Short track speed skating competitions at the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic came to an end on Thursday. After the events, Team China’s coach Li Yan discussed Wu Dajing's triumph, the team’s performance in South Korea, and what to expect at the Beijing 2022 Games.

Li said: "This Olympics was tough for the team, but they were happy to get what they deserve." In PyeongChang, China's short-track speed skaters won three medals altogether, with Li Jinyu picking up a silver in the women's 1,500-meter, Wu’s gold in men's 500-meter, and another second-place finish in the men's 5,000-meter relay.

Li later claimed the attitude towards the sport in China was also important. The 51-year-old remarked: "It's not only about the result... For sure we will do better, in organization, performance and everything."

Before leaving, the former Olympian thanked everybody in the country for their support during this difficult period which ended in the best circumstances.
