Chinese cultural show, photo exhibition kicks off in Bangladesh to promote friendship

DHAKA, May 26 (Xinhua) -- A two-day Chinese cultural show along with a photo exhibition has kicked off in Bangladesh capital Dhaka to further promote friendship.

Bangladesh-China Friendship Center (BCFC) organized the events which were jointly sponsored by the Chinese embassy in Dhaka and Confucius Institute at Dhaka University.

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ma Mingqiang delivered speech at the openning ceremony of the events Thursday.

Ma Mingqiang said cultural activities help further strengthen bilateral ties between two countries adding that friendship between Bangladesh and China is long-standing.

He further said the two countries will have more cultural exchanges in the future based on strong friendly relationship.

Ma hoped that cultural exchanges between the two countries would become an important pillar for bilateral relations and that this closer relationship of cooperation will lead to the bright future of the people of both countries which have been striving hard to achieve common development goals.

A total of 80 photos themed on China's development in various areas were displayed during the exhibition.

Dhaka University Vice Chancellor AASM Arefin Siddique and BCFC President M Delwar Hossain, among others, attended the events which are being held at the National Academy of Fine and Performing Arts in Dhaka.
