Pakistan to take decision on PM's India visit later Thursday: Foreign Ministry

Pakistan says Thursday that a decision on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's visit to India to attend the swearing in ceremony of the Indian Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi will be taken later on Thursday.

India has invited Nawaz Sharif to attend the oath taking ceremony of Modi earlier in the week.

Pakistan says it has received the invitation and discussions are going on to take a decision.

"If the prime minister does not visit India, then his representative will attend the oath-taking ceremony of the Indian prime minister," the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Tasnim Aslam said at her weekly briefing.

"Pakistan will bring all outstanding issues on the table with India if any meeting of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif takes place at anytime with Narendra Modi," she said.

Tasnim Aslam said if and when the meeting will takes place, all disputes including Kashmir, Siachen, Sir Creek, water issues, trade and economic agenda, transnational crimes and people-to- people contacts will come under discussion.

She said Pakistan has expectations that India will come forward for resumption of meaningful and constructive composite dialogue process, so that both the countries could focus on sustainable peace and development of the region.

"Pakistan wants uninterrupted and uninterruptable dialogues with India to peaceful resolve all bilateral disputes." She said.
