COVID-19 death toll rises to 20 in Israel

Israel reported two new death cases from the novel coronavirus, bringing the death toll to 20, the state's Ministry of Health said on Tuesday.

The two death cases are a woman in her nineties and a man in his seventies. Both of them suffered from other serious diseases.

A total of 663 people in Israel tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 5,358, the ministry said.

Of the 587 patients being treated in hospitals across Israel, 94 are in serious condition and 105 are in moderate condition.

The Israel Employment Service said the state's unemployment rate has jumped from 4 to 23.8 percent since the beginning of March due to the pandemic.
