APD | Department of Foreign Affairs, set to repatriate Filipinos in Wuhan

MANILA – The Philippine Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is prepared to repatriate Filipinos in Wuhan city and the rest of Hubei province should they opt to come home.

However, this will be subject to China’s rules on Disease Containment including immigration clearance and quarantine process, among others.

In a statement released at about 10:30 P.M., Tuesday, the DFA said they are making special flights from Hubei Province to Manila.

“Filipinos in the area who wish to be repatriated should contact the Philippine Consulate General in Shanghai,” the statement added.

Upon arrival in the Philippines, Filipino repatriates will be subject to 14 days of mandatory quarantine per guidelines of the Department of Health.

Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Strategic Communications and Research Ernesto C. Abella underscores the call of the Chinese government that Filipinos in the affected areas in need of medical assistance and treatment should go to the nearest medical facility and seek proper medical care, including treatment and quarantine.

There is also two 24-hour Hotlines established by China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, +8627-8712-2256 and +86-27-8781-1173.
