China ended up at the third place in the 2017 Wingsuit Flying World Championship (Jinggu Station), which concluded in southwest China’s Yunnan Province on Monday.

Flyers from France maintained their lead in the third round and took home the championship, while the American team secured the second place.

A total of 21 wingsuit flyers from seven countries and regions participated in the three-day competition. The athletes had to jump from a helicopter hovering at an altitude of 1,000 meters, fly for 1,500 meters and go through a gate made of hot air balloons 200 meters above the ground before opening the parachute and landing.

The top three flyers in station competitions will be able to enter the finals of this year's wingsuit flying world cup.

Apart from the formal contest, a series of other activities, such as hot air balloon riding, paragliding, powered parachuting and helicopter parachuting, will also be held during the event.
