U.S. drone strike in Pakistan causes three deaths

At least three people were killed and four others injured in a U.S. drone strike launched early Monday morning in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of North Waziristan, reported local media.

Local Urdu TV channel Dunya said that the strike took place at about 4:00 a.m. local time when unmanned U.S. aircraft fired two missiles at a house suspected of being a militant hideout in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan.

Details about the strike are not immediately available at this point.

Local media said that there were eight U.S. drones hovering over the area, creating a great panic among the local residents.

Monday morning's U.S. drone strike is the second of its kind in Pakistan within the last 24 hours.

Earlier on Sunday morning, at about 10:50 a.m. local time, U.S. drones fired two missiles at a house in the Dargah Mandi area of Miranshah, headquarters of North Waziristan, reportedly killing at least four suspected militants.

Pakistan Foreign Ministry condemned the strike, saying that these unilateral strikes are a violation of Pakistan's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Since this year, U.S. drones have launched 22 times of strikes in Pakistan's northwest tribal areas bordering Afghanistan, killing at least 128 people.
